Blubell Cottage is a charming 18th century Grade 11 listed stone cottage which has retained many of its original features. It is just a five minute walk away from the market town of Pickering which is also home to the North York Moors Steam Railway. The cottage is ideal for two couples seeking a peaceful break or a family with children over the age of 5 years old. The cottage is well placed on the edge of the North Yorkshire National Park with its spectacular scenery and, by contrast, the seaside towns of Scarborough and Whitby as well as the historic city of York are within easy reach by car. On entry, the hallway leads into the cosy sitting room with an open fire and classic furnishings. The boot room is spacious and has an original stone flagged floor and is perfect for storing outdoor clothing and footwear. The attractive kitchen is well equipped and leads into a laundry area and cloakroom. The dining room is spacious and offers more original features including alcove shelving, window seat and decorative log burner. A door leads upstairs to the landing which has original pitch pine floorboards. This leads into the bathroom and two lovely bedrooms, one double and the other a twin, both with window seats. Outside the kitchen opens onto an attractive south facing patio area with seating and a well stocked garden. The town of Pickering is bursting with plenty of amenities and shops to assist you on your self-catered stay, as well as attractions and interesting places to enjoy. Some National Trust properties are in the area including Nunnington Hall. Rievaulx Terrace and Bridestones, all well worth a visit. Plan in some adventure with a trip to Dalby Forest to visit the Go Ape activity centre, offering you the chance to swing through the trees like Tarzan as well as offering segway tours too. Take a scenic trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, or head to Pickering Castle, Castle Howard or any number of historic buildings in the area. Flamingo Land Resort is within easy driving distance and promises plenty of fun for any ages, or venture over to the coast to the likes of Scarborough for Sea Life Scarborough and Scarborough Castle, or make the drive up to Whitby to discover the eerie ruins of Whitby Abbey after climbing the famed 199 Steps.
