About this property

Nestled on a working farm, within the quaint village of Rosedale Abbey, is this stone-built barn conversion, Pond Cottage. Surrounded by breath-taking countryside, Pond Cottage offers a welcoming retreat for a family getaway to the rolling hills of the North Yorkshire Moors. The stable doors open into an inviting sitting room, where you and your loved ones can look forward to unwinding after a long day’s walk in front of the woodburning fire, boasting an unlimited supply of logs. Fulfilling your culinary needs is a farmhouse-style kitchen, covering all the necessities to prepare an evening meal before joining the family within the dining area, which boasts charming overlooking views of the garden. Follow the wrought ironwork staircase up to the first floor, where you will be delighted to retire to one of the two bedrooms of an evening. Completing the interior is a stylish family bathroom, where you can either take a relaxing soak in the bath or a refreshing shower before heading out for the day. Enjoy a spot of alfresco dining on the patio area, where you can take in the wonderful countryside views and the sounds of a flowing brook. If you fancy a special treat one evening, venture out to the local pub where you will be delighted within the welcoming atmosphere and the superb dining menu that awaits you. If you are feeling active, follow one of the doorstep walks which will bring you to some breath-taking scenery upon the moorland of the National Park. Alternatively, enjoy a spot of lunch within the village of Pickering before hoping on the North York Moors Steam Railway. Pond Cottage is the perfect spot for making memories with your loved ones. You can take a walk down to the beautiful pond where pets can roam free and children can enjoy the bird life. Note: This cottage can be booked with Refs. 983978, together they sleep 8.

Situated in the heart of the North York Moors National Park and handily placed for touring both the Moors and the Coast, the picturesque village of Rosedale Abbey is set within Rosedale, a beautiful valley of sweeping hillsides and breathtaking views. Rosedale is surrounded by wonderful moorland countryside with footpaths and bridleways radiating out in every direction. Today, a stone pillar, staircase and sundial are all that is left of the 12th century Cistercian Priory that gave the village its unusual name. Charming stone built cottages cluster around the village green alongside the village shops, tea rooms, glass studio and three old country pubs/restaurants.
