The Yorkshire Moors start just 3.5 miles away, with Dalby Forest (5 miles) a haven for hikers and bikers. Thrill-seekers and animal lovers will love Flamingo Land (5 miles), with theme park rides and a zoo to discover. For days further afield, head to Castle Howard (15.5 miles), one of Britain’s finest stately homes, the charming seaside town of Filey (21 miles) or the atmospheric coastal spots of Scarborough (17 miles) and Whitby (21.5 miles).
