The pretty market towns of Malton and Pickering are both close by and offer an array of individual shops, quaint tea rooms and excellent pubs and restaurants. Just a five minute drive from this Malton cottage are Eden Camp museum and Flamingo Land theme park, and a ten minute drive away are Dalby Forest and magnificent Castle Howard. For golfers, there are courses at Malton and Kirkbymoorside, whilst an easy drive brings you to Scarborough or Whitby with all their seaside trappings. A great Malton cottage at any time of the year.
The town of Malton has many interesting buildings including the old Corn Exchange and Assembly Rooms. A weekly market is still held in the town, as well as livestock and farmers' markets. The Yorkshire Moors are to the north, and the Yorkshire Wolds are to the south, making it excellent country for walkers and cyclists.

The location was beautiful and peaceful, and ideally situated for visiting either York or the coastal towns of Whitby and Scarborough. The kids loved seeing the farm animals in the back garden, and we made full use of the hot tub! The owners were very friendly and helpful. There was a handy farm shop with local produce only a couple of minutes drive away. We felt very relaxed there and would have loved to stay for longer. A definite 10 out of 10.
