Cottage Number Three is an attractive North York Moors holiday cottage near Pickering, situated in the National Park village of Lockton. More information can be found on our website www.ashfieldcottages.co.uk  The cottage has a lounge/dining room which offers you a place to relax and unwind, the well-equipped fitted kitchen has a range of modern appliances, there is a downstairs bathroom with an over bath shower, upstairs there is a spacious double bedroom overlooking the garden and a single bedroom, also a cloakroom with hand basin and W.C. Outside there is a south facing patio overlooking the garden, to the front of the cottages there is off street parking.

Ashfield Cottages offers a choice of three delightful holiday homes near Pickering, ideally placed in the National Park village of Lockton close  Dalby Forest. Perfect for couples, all the cottages sleep two adults and are well presented throughout to offer a high standard of self-catering accommodation and a warm welcome.

Each cottage has its own unique character and all enjoy modern day facilities (including Wi-Fi) and have south facing gardens for you to relax in during the warmer months. The immediate surrounding area offers excellent opportunities for those who enjoy walking, with great walks that can start straight from your front door. You can take a stroll down the village street and enjoy tasty treats at the Tea Rooms or venture a mile further and have lunch or an evening meal at the two nearby pubs.

For day trips out you are spoilt for choice, with the North York Moors National Park on the doorstep where the stunning scenery all around. Within a short drive the Yorkshire Heritage coastline offers you a day at the seaside with the resorts of Whitby, Scarborough and Filey, along with other smaller fishing villages, all there to be enjoyed. For a different day out you can take a train journey on the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, which is located not far from Ashfield Cottages. If you prefer to be active head the short distance to Dalby Forest where you will find mountain bike trails, along with forest walks. The market town of Pickering is just five miles from Ashfield Cottages and offers a great choice of independent shops and restaurants, or you could just stroll down the village street and visit the local tearooms. Spend a day out exploring the magical streets and attractions of the City of York - not to be missed and jam packed full of history and culture. Castle Howard is another 'must visit' and one of the country's most spectacular country houses, along with Nunnington Hall and Duncombe Park.

Other attractions include Goathland village (well known as the village of Aidensfield in the TV series Heartbeat); the spectacular award winning Scampston Gardens; nearby Lavender Farms, Beck Isle Museum and Ryedale Folk Museum where you can learn about rural life and Eden Camp which takes you back to Wartime Britain. You can then return and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of Ashfield Cottages.

  • Large lounge /dining area with comfy seating; the dining area has a pine table and a country dresser. Dual aspect windows and a glass door lets the outside in and provides nice views over the garden and patio.
  • Kitchen, well equipped with built-in oven, fridge, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher, under stairs storage area for storing coats and shoes.
  • Bathroom with shower over bath, wash basin and W.C.
  • First floor

  • Attractive double bedroom overlooking the garden.
  • Single bedroom.
  • Cloakroom with wash basin and WC.
  • Outside: Off street parking at the front of the cottages.

    Additional information: Sorry we do not accept pets, smoking or vaping is not allowed in the cottages. The owners will be available to meet and greet you upon arrival and answer any questions you have (plus be on hand during your holiday if needed). The price includes central heating, gas, electricity, towels and bed linen. There is Wi-Fi internet available and generally a good mobile phone signal.
