The Old Cart House receives glowing praise for its stunning rural setting, spacious and well-equipped accommodation, and warm, welcoming hosts. Guests consistently highlight the beautiful views, peaceful atmosphere, and the unique experience of staying on a working farm with animals nearby. The cottage is ideal for families and groups, offering ample space and thoughtful touches. Minor issues such as kitchen equipment and mattress comfort are occasionally mentioned, but do not detract from the overwhelmingly positive experience. The property is especially appreciated for its tranquillity and proximity to scenic walks and a friendly local pub.
Cleanliness is frequently commended, with guests describing the cottage as spotlessly clean and well-presented, even during busy farming periods. A few minor mentions of cobwebs and dust in nooks and crannies are noted, but these are considered understandable given the rural, working farm location.
The location is universally praised for its breathtaking views, peacefulness, and access to beautiful countryside walks. Guests love the remote, tranquil setting and proximity to local attractions and a welcoming village pub. Some mention limited immediate footpath access, but overall the setting is a major highlight.
Guests find the cottage spacious, cosy, and comfortable, with ample room for large groups and families. The open-plan living area and large dining table are especially appreciated. A few reviews mention mattresses could be improved for heavier guests, but comfort is otherwise highly rated.
Facilities are described as excellent, with a well-equipped kitchen, open fire, baby gates, and plenty of parking. Some guests note minor improvements such as sharper knives, a larger fridge, or additional kitchen items, but overall the property is considered very well provided for.
Many guests mention thoughtful touches such as welcome packs with wine, milk, biscuits, or even sloe gin and cake. While these gestures are greatly appreciated, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Great, spacious house to accommodate ourselves and extended family! Very well equipped for all our needs with a very welcomed bottle of Prosecco, chocolate cake and milk in the fridge! Cosy and warm with the addition of a lovely open fire. Beautiful, rural location on a working farm.
