It is the hub for the nearby farms and villages and is a charming location with plenty of Yorkshire charm. Visitors can browse a variety of stores, including tea rooms, taverns, restaurants, and antique shops, whilst Wednesdays are market days. The charming villages of Hutton-le-Hole and Lastingham, as well as the National Park's great hiking trails and breath-taking scenery, are close by. The North York Moors Steam Railway, a must-do excursion for all visitors to the region, has its headquarters in Pickering.
