The Yorkshire Dales is a walkers’ and cyclists’ paradise with areas to explore right from the doorstep. There are endless opportunities for outdoor activities. Cycles can be hired from the Dales Bike Centre in Fremington, which also hosts the annual Ard Rock Mountain Bike Festival, approximately 4 miles away.
The large garage provides useful storage space for outdoor equipment.
Marrick Priory, an outdoor activity centre, is 5 miles away and offers a range of outdoor activities for half or full days. Activities here include climbing, caving, high ropes and archery. It is a wonderful area with something for everyone. In the Yorkshire Dales you will find lots of pretty villages, pubs, wildlife and farms wherever you go. Aysgarth Falls are just 30 minutes away, with the historic market town of Richmond an easy drive with its famous castle, Georgian theatre and the ruins of Easby Abbey. To keep your kids entertained, a day out at the Forbidden Corner near Middleham is well worth a visit with its labyrinth of caves, a folly and underground caverns to explore. Explore numerous castles with their tradition and history, or the market towns of Leyburn or Hawes with their individual shops, cafés and restaurants.
Just 3 miles down the road and you are in Reeth, a popular village to stroll around with its own pubs, tea rooms and individual gift shops. If you’re more of a home bird, then this homely cottage caters for all your needs. The dining table seats seven easily, and the leather sofas and armchair are comfortable enough for an afternoon nap or watching films by the open fire after your evening meal. The property is spacious and comfortable and a perfect place to visit as a family or group of friends. Shop 3 miles, pub 500 yards, restaurant ¾ mile.
