About these Holiday Cottages

Wraycroft Cottages is a Dales family business in the Yorkshire village of Reeth established in 1965.  Living on a beautiful two acre site in 1980 we decided to build three traditional stone terraced properties adjacent to our own home.  They are known as Ashcroft, Beechcroft and Cedarcroft and are just a 5 minute stroll from Reeth village centre.

These unique cottages are the perfect peaceful retreat with gardens, ponds and access to the River Swale brimming with wildlife.  Accommodation is rated 4* by Visit England, and each year is awarded 100% for cleanliness.  Visitors who return year after year say they have never been anywhere so peaceful.

What Our Guests Say

"Missing Reeth and in particular staying at Reeth Cottages. Cedar Croft as all your three cottages are was a true home from home for the last two weeks.  Such a clean, warm cottage with everything we needed and fabulous views.  The only thing missing this time was the snow!  We'll be back as soon as we can!".  Pauline J-P, 7th March 2017.

"Just had a great weekend. Lovely fire to greet us. Many thanks". Chris Smith, 15th January 2017.

"..We have been visiting the Dales every year for the last twenty or so years and stayed in many cottages during this time and I have to say your cottages are the best bare none. We did not want for anything at all and the garden was to die for. I will miss it and I was very sad to leave.  We have always favoured Reeth and your cottage was the icing on the cake.. we will return.  All the best".  Steve & Barbar S, stayed April 2016.

"Beautiful location, lovely cottage, welcoming owners.  Everything that you could wish for a relaxing holiday.  Will definitely be returning." - Lynn J, 29 July 2015.

“Outstanding accommodation in a stunning location - Our second visit here.  Beautiful cottage fronting Swale River.  All conveniences provided. Very accommodating hosts. Short stroll to village of Reeth with its great pubs and amenities."  - John D, 19 January 2015.

Around and About

The village of Reeth is often thought of as the 'capital' of Swaledale, and is a quaint, traditional English village at the junction of the River Swale and the Arkle Beck.

The area is particularly popular with outdoor enthusiasts and offers designated walking routes, mountain biking and watersports activities.  Reeth village contains a number of grocery shops, a Post Office and other independent shops ideal for picking up essentials.

The village green hosts a small market every Friday and there is also a museum, ice cream parlour and several cafes close by.

Directions

Travelling from Richmond (B6270), on entering Reeth, the road branches just before it goes up the hill.  The branch road is a Y junction and opposite the bottom shop.  It is called the Back Lane and is steep.

We are on the left hand side at the top of the hill.  An easier approach is to remain on the main road which goes through the village on its way to Gunnerside.

Just after the fire station which is still in the village, turn left down Langhorne Drive.  This road ends in a T Junction.  Turn left down Back Lane and Wraycroft Cottages, well marked, are a few hundred metres on your right.

Our recent visit to the Cottages was a big success! The cottage we stayed in was well maintained , well equipped and hyper clean. Views over the dale and easy access to the village made this an ideal location . The area is ideal for walking and the dales Cycle Centre is just down the road at Grinton .

Plenty of tea and cakes on offer in the village as well as three pubs to choose from. We shall no doubt be returning to stay here again to sample the delights of all the Dales have to offer and the hospitality provided by the good people of Reeth.

If you are reading the reviews you must be considering staying here. Do not hesitate, as these are truly genuine thoughts from returning guests.

We have enjoyed another relaxing stay in these fantastic surroundings. Again we say Wraycroft makes us feel so relaxed & comfortable from the moment of walking through the door. Thank you for accommodating us & we will definitely return.

Sadly, we are nearing the end of our 2 week break in Beechcroft. We always leave with a heavy heart but know we will be returning yet again. We have stayed in all three cottages over the years and all are equally cosy, clean and well equipped with fantastic views of the huge garden and hills beyond.

We have been so lucky with the lovely warm and sunny weather this week, having been snowbound at this time last year!

Reeth is a fantastic base for a holiday. There are many walks directly from the cottages to suit all abilities. The village has good pubs and cafes along with a couple of bakers and shops.

You will not regret a visit to these fantastic cottages.
