This is a great location for walkers, from the castles at Bolton and Middleham, to Hardraw Force, England's highest single drop waterfall. It is a fantastic base from which to explore all that Wensleydale and Swaledale have to offer. A superb Yorkshire cottage, ideal for exploring the area, or as a romantic getaway.
Situated in truly beautiful countryside, the picturesque Wensleydale village of Bainbridge is just two miles from Askrigg - known to millions as âDarrowby' in James Herriot's "All Creatures Great and Small". Bainbridge is also just four miles from the market town of Hawes, home of the famous Wensleydale cheese, and boasts an extensive village green which comes with its own set of stocks. This excellent holiday location is ideal for walkers, and offers a great base from which to explore the popular areas of Wensleydale and Swaledale, taking in the Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater, and castles at both Bolton and Middleham. The highest single drop waterfall in England, Hardraw Force, is close by too and stands at an impressive 99ft!

The cottage was lovely and the weather hot and sunny. The only thing we could have done with was the use of a sun parasol as some afternoons it was to hot to sit outside without some shade. Thankyou to our hosts for providing a spotlessly clean and very well equiped cottage. We would have no hesitation in recommending Bill's Place to family and friends.

The kitchen is very well equipped and the cottage had an extremely high level of cleanliness. Communication with the hosts was excellent and the booklet gave all the information needed for the cottage and surrounding area. The location itself was perfect for exploring the Yorkshire Dales.
