A charming and picturesque cottage situated in the heart of Middleham with lovely amenities on the doorstep. Middleham s picturesque cobbled streets are home to old traditional pubs, local eateries, a convenience store, fish and chip takeaway, a fine dining restaurant and an abundance of walks and trails. Middleham is famous for its racehorses, the horses are a great sight as they make their way to the gallops every morning. Visit Jervaulx Abbey, Aysgarth Falls and the Forbidden Corner, a 4 acre garden with a labyrinth of tunnels, follies and other surprises all within 10 miles or sample some local cheese at the Wensleydale Creamery and the Dales Countryside Museum in Hawes (18 miles). The nearby walk onto Penhill is a must, so do remember your walking shoes. Just a few miles away is the town of Leyburn (2 miles). Here you will find typical Yorkshire shops, pubs and cafes gathered around its handsome town square, along with a market every Friday. Step off the main street into a small porch where you can hang your coat, exchange your walking shoes for slippers and feel instantly at home as you enter the immaculate sitting room, furnished with original artwork, a snuggly sofa, and an armchair set around a fireplace with wood burner. Continue through to the dining hall and well equipped kitchen, where you can create home cooked meals to enjoy with your family and friends. After dinner, unwind back in the lounge and watch a film on the TV/DVD with the warmth of the wood burner keeping you toasty. At the end of the day, discover two bedrooms upstairs; a king size room on the first floor and a twin room on the floor above complete with an en suite shower room and WC. On the first floor, get refreshed in the bathroom that features a bath, shower and WC. Leading out from the kitchen is a delightful courtyard with a bistro table and chairs for four. It's the perfect spot for a quiet morning coffee while listening to the birds or to soak up the sun with an ice cold drink in hand. The area is fully enclosed and has an outhouse for bicycles, upon request. Outdoor patio with steps to raised gravel area, this is enclosed but also has shared access to a neighbouring cottage. Bike store (available upon request, accessed via stone steps).
