Around and About

Nestled in the steep-sided valley of the River Nidd lies the charming Dales town of Pateley Bridge. This lovely village is composed of quaint little alleys whilst only a few yards off the steep main street is a wide range of interesting shops, all offering a selection of unusual gifts and local memorabilia. Well known for its prize-winning floral displays, the town also offers excellent sports facilities and a riverside park with children's play area. There are also a large number of Craft Workshops as well as the award winning Nidderdale Museum which houses a collection of displays illustrating many aspects of Dales life in the past. Also in the area - both up and downstream of the River Nidd – are a wide selection of walking opportunities and excellent bird watching spots.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?
