Centred on a network of local footpaths and close to sections of the Nidderdale way and Pennine way the location is ideal for those who love walking. Whether you’re looking for gentle walks or more of a challenge you’ll find trails along rivers Nidd and Wharfe, around the many nearby reservoirs, or high on the hills and moors above Nidderdale and Wharfedale. For cyclists many great routes are on the doorstep including the Tour de France and Yorkshire challenges of Greenhow Hill and Blubberhouses Hill. Average for local amenities : The Burrow is quite isolated so there are no local amenities. However, this is a plus for us as we knew in advance and took everything we needed. Pateley Bridge has everything in terms of shops, cafés etc. Locally, the walking is fantastic from the door. In a short car journey, you can be anywhere in the dale.

Beautiful, well maintained and spotlessly clean cottage, nestled into the hillside with a view over the valley. It is very well equipped for self catering. Perfect for a quiet week away. Plenty of places locally to eat and go for walks. A warm welcome and a lovely host. We would thoroughly recommend.
