The Barn is a beautiful, converted barn dating back to the 1800s. It offers a comfortable stay in the charming little village of Spofforth. The barn, which is situated in the garden of the owner’s family home, and has plenty of character and has been stylishly decorated and furnished with exposed wooden beams and stone throughout giving you that lovely ‘home from home’ feeling.

On entering the property through a stable door is a delightful country-style, shaker kitchen which is fully equipped for all your culinary needs. The living space has a cosy sitting area which offers a Smart TV and a dining area, where you can have breakfast and get energised for the day’s adventures. Up one flight of stairs onto the first floor, you are greeted by the stunning master bedroom which has a plush super king-size bed, guaranteeing a perfect night’s sleep. Smart TV and hairdryer in the bedroom, and a lovely, well-presented en-suite with a shower. Outside seating area for the exclusive use of the barn is located at the side of the barn where you can have the opportunity to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening’s aperitif whilst taking in the cottage garden wildlife - you may even see a red kite or two.

The Barn offers a fantastic holiday retreat, ideally located to explore the local areas, and is set between the fashionable spa town of Harrogate and the market town of Wetherby, where you have so much to explore. Why not check your diary for July, when The Great Yorkshire Show takes place, as it is just a short bus ride from The Barn. The famous Betty’s tea room is only 10 minutes away by car along with many fantastic restaurants, pubs, cafés and independent shops. The Valley Gardens are nearby and RHS Harlow Carr which is worth a visit for a gentle stroll.

Just under one hour’s drive you can enter the Yorkshire Dales where there is plenty of opportunities to explore the stunning countryside and waterfalls it has to offer, whether on foot, by bike or car.

Spofforth is a perfect base for those who wish to visit surrounding areas, Knaresborough and Wetherby less than 10 minutes away, York City Centre is less than 40 minutes away and Leeds City Centre is 30 minutes away.

Spofforth Village is home to the fantastic Spofforth Castle, which is part of English Heritage; the castle is a great place to walk around and have a picnic at or, alternatively, there is a cosy village pub which serves great local ales and freshly prepared pub food. The only issue you will have staying at The Barn is fitting everything in so why not book a few extra days? Friendly family dogs, one happy rabbit and cheeky chickens on-site.
