Keen ramblers will also want to traverse the many scenic valley walks including the Dales Way which allows guests to admire panoramic views of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, some of these trails lead to Janet’s Foss, Gordale Scar and Malham Cove, an impressive geological phenomenon. Skipton is also a short scenic drive from the cottage and is often referred to as ‘the gateway to the Dales’, enjoy immersing yourself in local history at Skipton Castle and riding Embasy to Bolton Abbey Steam Railway. The Old Cobblers is the perfect base for those looking to unlock the multitude of secrets and activities of the Yorkshire Dales.

Among the many picturesque towns in the Yorkshire Dales, Grassington stands out. A monthly farmer's market features a tantalising selection of organic and homemade local produce, and quaint stone cottages and shops line the cobbled market place, providing exceptional shopping facilities for a village of this size. Located on the banks of the Wharfe River and bordered to the north by the expansive Grass Woods, this is an excellent walking area. Grassington serves as an excellent home base for exploring the surrounding area and the many attractions that the Yorkshire Dales have to offer, including Bronte Country and the historic cities of York.
