A little further afield lies the historical market town of Skipton with its wide sweeping high street and bustling market. Again, well served with shops, pubs and restaurants and enjoying a Norman Castle, canal and golf course.

We had a nice break at Prospect House which is in a peaceful location with beautiful views at the back of the house. The rooms were spacious, with plenty of space for clothes etc and it was good the porch area would accommodate walking boots, jackets etc. The kitchen and diner were OK but we noticed the oven was still not clean (looking at previous reviews) so we did not want to use it. The lounge area was comfortable. What would have improved it, however, were some blinds for the huge windows - they would be useful to keep the heat and strong light out in summer and would have made it more cosy when we were there in October.The bathroom was clean and spacious but an anti-slip mat would have been very helpful - the bath was lovely. One problem was, however, we could not get the towel rail to be warm when we wanted it - it seemed to depend on the radiators being full on in the bedrooms - which we didn't want. A bit more control of individual heating in different rooms would have been good.Overall, though, a comfortable, clean and pleasant holiday cottage in a peaceful location

We enjoyed our holiday in Prospect House which was very comfortable and well situated in the lovely village of Kettlewell. We hope to return as it was an added bonus that it was pet free.
