About this property

No24 is an idyllic, one-bedroom cottage on the road through Embsay, on the edge of the market town of Skipton, North Yorkshire. Presented to a lovely standard with a rear courtyard and easy access to the town’s amenities, No24 provides an idyllic bolthole for couples looking to spend some time in this part of Yorkshire. Step inside this pretty abode and make yourself at home in the lounge, complete with an electric flame effect fire and a TV. Move into the kitchen and rustle up something tasty, equipped with all the essentials for a week away, whilst the dining table is perfect for mealtimes. Spend a moment in the courtyard, kicking back with a cold beverage in hand, before heading upstairs and make yourself comfortable in the bedroom, conveniently featuring an en-suite shower room. Head into Skipton and explore the town’s amenities, including an M&S Simply Food supermarket where you can load up on the essentials, or choose a local pub and savour a hearty meal. Wander around the grounds of Skipton Castle, take in local history at the Craven Museum and Gallery and see the traditional exhibitions at Mill Bridge Gallery. Spend an afternoon at Bolton Abbey, home to the famous Bolton priory and stepping stones, a lovely backdrop for a romantic picnic, or venture to the spa town of Harrogate where you can treat your loved ones to a tasty treat in one of the inviting tea rooms. The scenic splendour of the Yorkshire Dales National Park can easily be reached; discover the locations of Malham Cove, Gordale Scar and Scaleber Force Waterfall. Choose No24 for a magnificent break to Skipton, whatever time of year.

Known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, Skipton is well placed for visiting all that the Dales has to offer, whilst York, the Lake District and the West Coast are also within easy motoring distance. This lovely market town has much to interest the enthusiastic visitor, boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2014, The Sunday Times named Skipton as Britain's "best place to live" and two years later placed it among the nine best towns in Yorkshire and the North-East. Steam railways with regular excursions are available at Embsay and Bolton Abbey, and the Leeds to Liverpool Canal passes through Skipton with the 1 mile long Foulridge Tunnel and the 5-rise locks at Bingley within a short travel. Golf, swimming, squash, tennis and snooker are all available locally and the excellent public transport means the car can be left at home!

It’s cheerfully decorated, very clean and there were lots of special touches. There are plenty of varied walks from the door and it’s ideally situated to explore further afield.
