About this property

Situated on the outskirts of the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park is this characterful two-bedroom property, Low Skibeden Cottage. Enjoying an immaculately-presented enclosed garden, a traditional interior and close proximity to the local amenities and stunning landscapes, Low Skibeden Cottage welcomes three guests to bask in the perfect rural escape to North Yorkshire. Pull up in the off-road parking space and amble through your very own private garden, complete with picnic bench so you can enjoy the afternoon sun and make your way into an open-plan living space. Discover a fully-fitted kitchen where the designated chef can rustle up a delectable feast to be enjoyed over a bottle of wine at the dining table; a plush sofa and two armchairs complete this space, curating the perfect homely spot to unwind in the warmth of a coal-effect gas fire whilst you enjoy some light entertainment on the TV. Ascend the staircase, or utilise the stairlift if required, to the first floor where two charming bedrooms, a double and a single both with ample storage, await; along the hall find a handy shower room where you can freshen ahead of a day of adventures. Venture into the nearby market town of Skipton, home to the 12th century fortress Skipton Castle and the Craven Museum and Gallery, as well as a multitude of pubs, bars, restaurants, and boutique stores where you can treat your loved ones; from your doorstep you can also visit the stunning grounds of Bolton Abbey and cross the famous stepping stones. Travel by car to Ilkley where you can test out your golf swing at Ilkley Golf Club, take a relaxing stroll around the grounds of Darwin Gardens or scramble the Ilkley Moor Cow and Calf Rocks. Further afield, admire 17 acres of diverse gardens and activities at Valley Gardens Harrogate or test out some of the local delicacies on a Yorkshire Appetite Food Tour; from your doorstep you can also visit the city of York, home to Yorkminster, York City Walls and Clifford’s Tower. All of this and more awaits at Low Skibeden Cottage.

Skipton, often known as "The Gateway to the Dales," is well situated for exploring all that the Dales has to offer, and is just a short drive from York, the Lake District, and the West Coast. This charming market town boasts an antique castle that is available to the public, a stunning mediaeval parish church, and a colourful market that fills the cobblestone setts on either side of the high street. It has much to offer the eager tourist. Skipton was rated the "greatest place to live" in Britain by The Sunday Times in 2014, and two years later it was designated one of the top nine towns in Yorkshire and the North-East. At Embsay and Bolton Abbey, steam railroads offer frequent excursions, and the Leeds to Liverpool Canal travels through Skipton, passing through the 1-mile-long Foulridge Tunnel and the 5-rise locks at Bingley within a short distance. Golf, swimming, squash, tennis, and snooker are all offered nearby, and the great public transportation allows you to leave your car at home!

The cottage is comfortably decorated, in keeping with the age of the property. The grounds are immaculately maintained, and the views of the surrounding countryside are breathtaking. We will be looking forward to staying again.

) & the rat race. Superbly located, within easy reach of Skipton and the awesome Yorkshire Dales. The owner could not have been more welcoming; fresh milk, choc eclairs and packets of treats! Well done.

Beautiful gardens. Accommodation is small, would benefit from better mattresses on the beds, less furniture throughout. Nice touch with welcome goodies, but feel bread, butter and milk would be more beneficial than treats. A guest comments book in the property and garden table and chairs to enjoy the outside would enable people staying to make the most of the views. A fly spray, fly swats or fly catchers would be great as we had a bad fly infestation, throughout the property. The owner is lovely and very accommodating.
