About this property

Langcliffe House is a glorious retreat situated in the heart of

Kettlewell in the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park.Tucked

away within a quiet backwater of Kettlewell with the beck running

opposite that feeds the river Wharf. With off-road parking for up to four cars, stunning views, a glowing woodburning stove and welcoming two well-behaved dogs, this charming abode is perfect for families or friends seeking a tranquil escape. Tucked along a quiet country lane, Langcliffe House greets you with the timeless charm of a traditional rustic Yorkshire stone dwelling. A low stone wall, softened by flowering shrubs and potted blooms, frames the approach. Step through the distinctive blue door and into a high-ceilinged hallway, where cool tiled flooring meets warm-toned walls adorned with artwork—an inviting prelude to the comfort within. An utility room just off the hall offers a practical space for laundry essentials, with a washing machine and tumble dryer tucked neatly away. From here, the home opens into a generous living space designed for gathering and unwinding. The kitchen centres around a striking purple AGA and a central

island that invites morning coffee or evening prep chats. From here the bifold doors lead to the stunning conservatory with

panoramic views of the garden and surrounding Dale. A jukebox adds a playful note, while the dining table—set for

ten—promises long, laughter-filled meals. Sofas and a hanging chair invite you to linger, while a Smart TV make this a favourite spot for relaxed evenings. The doors open along the front providing access to the deck and garden area, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the peace and tranquillity. A second cosy sitting room, carpeted and intimate, offers a woodburning stove and Smart TV—ideal for quieter evenings. Bifold doors here open back towards the main living space, creating a sense of flow while offering a peaceful retreat. Follow the pretty wallpapered wall and carpeted staircase to the first floor, where three thoughtfully furnished bedrooms await. Each double room has its own en-suite with a walk-in shower, basin, and WC, and each offers its own perspective on the surrounding countryside. A landing space with a seating area with a selection of books provides a quiet nook for reading or just enjoying the view with a window that frames the hills beyond. To freshen up, head to the sleek family bathroom with a bath and walk-in shower that serves the upper rooms, while a ground-floor cloakroom adds convenience. Up in the eaves, the second-floor family room is a versatile hideaway with a double bed and two single beds. Two Velux windows draw in natural light and reveal uninterrupted views of the rolling dales. Step outside and let the garden draw you in. As the charcoals heat up on the barbecue and the scent of summer flowers drifts from potted blooms, you might wander to the summerhouse with a book. With uninterrupted views across the Yorkshire Dales, this is a

space made for lingering—whether under the midday sun or

beneath a canopy of stars. Venture beyond the gate of Langcliffe

House to appreciate the stunning landscape with the Dalesway

running along the back of the house providing wonderful walks

direct from the doorstep. Kettlewell is a quaint village surrounded by beautiful scenery with the river Wharf running through. The village has a small shop supplying basic essentials and crafting materials for the hobby enthusiasts. The three pubs are all within a 5/10 minute walk and all serve fabulous food. The local And Then deli cafe and The Cottage Café are good spots for morning coffee and serve wonderful breakfasts and lunch. Grassington, famous for the filming location of All Creatures Great and Small is a 15 minute drive and well worth a visit with a Coop, Spar and numerous lovely independent shops and cafes. A little further afield the Forbidden Corner is a unique visitors attraction enjoyed by both children and adults alike. If cheese is your thing, visit the Wensleydale Creamery, the home of Wallace and Gromit for a truly authentic and memorable Yorkshire experience, where adults and children alike can watch the artisans at work, crafting delicious Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese. Savour the natural beauty of North Yorkshire by paying a visit to

Linton Falls—brave the stepping stones or simply admire the

might of the river from the bank. Every day is an opportunity for a fresh and thrilling adventure when you choose to holiday at Langcliffe House.

Nestling at the foot of Great Whernside, near the head of Upper Wharfedale, this idyllic village makes the perfect place from which to explore the wonderful scenery and pretty villages of this magnificent Dale. Much of Upper Wharfedale is National Trust owned - an indication of the beauty of its classic countryside, with dry-stone walls and barns, important flower-rich hay meadows and valley side woodland. Undoubtedly, this is one of the best walking and mountain biking areas in the Dales, with The Dales Way passing nearby. The village itself lying on the banks of the River Wharfe is a real delight with traditional built stone cottages, three pubs, a Post Office, speciality shops and a hotel. No surprise that the hit movie Calendar Girls was filmed here and in other locations throughout the area. An excellent base for enjoying the famous Dales, historic market towns, caves and waterfalls of this magical area.
