Guests say

Guests consistently praise the Family Retreat for its superb location, high standards of cleanliness, and comfortable, well-appointed interiors. The property's charm and thoughtful touches, such as stair gates and a projector chill-out area, are frequently highlighted. While there was an isolated issue with heating and maintenance during one stay, the overall sentiment remains overwhelmingly positive.

Reviewers frequently mention the property being spotless and very clean, indicating a high standard of cleanliness throughout the accommodation.

The central location in the village of Grassington is highly appreciated by guests, with easy access to local amenities and scenic surroundings.

The property is generally found to be comfortable with large bedrooms, fresh linen, and warm interiors. However, one review mentioned an issue with the heating system being locked, which affected comfort.

Facilities are well-regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped property and thoughtful additions like stair gates. However, the lack of a washing machine and a maintenance issue during one stay have slightly impacted this score.

While the reviews reflect a thoughtful design and amenities, there is no mention of gifts or additional thoughtful gestures that would warrant a score in this category.

This was our second time staying at Family Retreat and the location and the accommodation itself is amazing, 5*.However on this occasion there was an issue in terms of the heating. The heating was set in a timer which had been locked and unable to change. It was a bit chilly at times and this meant the rooms were cold and uncomfortable. When you are paying £700+ for 3 nights you expect to be comfortable and change the heating times. It won’t stop us going again but I hope this is fixed in future.
