Follow along the River Wharfe and embark on adventures from your doorstep with walking routes and trails freely available providing you with a wealth of choice, as well as nearby towns of Kettlewell and Hawes being excellent places to stop in.

Well equipped, very clean and tidy. Car parking was a stones throw away and at £17.50 for a weekly ticket, which can also be used at other National Trust car parks, makes it good value for money.

It is ideally situated for plenty of walks in the surrounding area. The Buck Inn (75 metres from the cottage) provides excellent food and beer, as does the Queens Arms in Litton. We parked on the Yorkshire Dales car park for the week (even though there was potential to park close to the cottage), which cost £17.50. For this cost you park in any one of the 10 Yorkshire Dales car parks. We managed to visit eight of the car parks! We spent one day visiting local waterfalls. Hardraw Force is definitely worth a visit, even though there is a charge of £4 per person. Take cash to Hardraw Force as it is not always possible to use a credit/debit card.
