Castlewood Cottage in Skipton is highly praised for its stunning views, comfortable furnishings, and central location. Guests appreciate the thoughtful welcome baskets and the property's cleanliness. The cottage's decor and facilities, including a games room, receive commendations. While parking on a steep hill is noted, the proximity to local attractions and the town centre is a highlight. The property's charm and the owners' helpfulness contribute to a delightful stay.
Guests consistently mention the property's cleanliness, highlighting that everything worked and was clean. There was a single mention of dirty baking trays and pan lids, but this seems to be an isolated incident, not reflective of the general experience.
The location is frequently described as excellent, with easy access to Skipton's town centre, local pubs, restaurants, and attractions. The steep hill is mentioned several times, which may be a consideration for some guests.
Comfort is a strong point, with guests finding the beds comfy and the property warm and inviting. The steep staircase is noted by a few, which could affect the comfort level for those with mobility issues.
Facilities are generally praised, especially the games room and well-equipped kitchen. However, there are minor maintenance issues mentioned, such as a leaking sink pipe and a creased lounge rug, which suggest room for improvement.
The welcome baskets, including treats for both humans and dogs, are frequently mentioned and appreciated. It should be noted that such gestures, while common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

The cottage was a great size with parking outside, we had a problem with the fridge not working so rang the owners straight away and the issue was dealt with within the hour! The welcome pack was a lovely touch, and Mollie dog loved her doggie chocolate. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay in the future.

2min walk to town although the hill back is not for the faint hearted! We had a lovely stay over new year. Everything we could ask for. The fridge in the kitchen broke but we were notified before hand and a cooler box provided. There was however a second fridge in the basement so we werenât put out. The decor and layout is really lovely, much better than many Iâve stayed in and you can tell itâs been decorated with care. We will def stay again

All as described, very clean and comfortable. We stayed in October so the washing machine and dryer were very helpful for muddy walking clothes. The cottage was nice and warm, shower powerful. Lots of helpful touches and equipped with everything we needed. Only a very short walk to pubs, shops and restaurants in Skipton but the street was very quiet. Lots to do in Skipton and surrounding areas. Would stay again!
