About this property

This pretty, 400-year-old quarry workers' cottage is tucked away into the village of Ingleton, Yorkshire, refurbished to a high standard of quality, whilst retaining many original features and exposed beams. Whether you are setting off for a romantic getaway, or bringing along family members, 2 Storrs Cottages is a bright and thoughtfully furnished place to return to every day of your holiday. Sit and relax in the summery sun room which overlooks the lovely patio, your own little snug spot to enjoy a warm cup of tea as you take in the beautiful views before you. The modern kitchen carries a sleek design with everything you need to feel right at home, whilst the lounge inspires those cosy nights in with a contemporary multi fuel woodburner, a comfy sofa, as well as a little reading area. The first floor compliments the cottage theme, housing 2 neutrally styled bedrooms, comprising a double and a single bed with a pull out trundle bed, each brought to life by exposed beams which are scattered on the ceiling above. Lastly, the family bathroom provides an all-white suite, joined by both a bath and a separate shower to suit your preferences. Out and about, the village is led by narrow winding streets centred on a tiny market place, and its main claim to fame is the Waterfalls' Walk, whilst the well-known White Scar Caves are just over a mile away. An excellent location from which to explore the Yorkshire Dales. This destination makes a perfect base for walking, cycling and caving, ideal for families and ‘visiting interesting places’ holidays. The area is a breath of fresh air, with plenty of delightful places to shop, eat, drink and sleep. Enjoy a quiet stay at 2 Storrs Cottages any time of year.

The village of Ingleton nestles under Ingleborough, one of the famous Three Peaks, on the western edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and offers a good range of shops, pubs and places to eat. The centre of the village is pretty with narrow and winding streets, centred on a tiny market place. The village's well known White Scar Caves (a mile outside the village on the Hawes road) are open to the public and have a dazzling display of stalactites and stalagmites, caverns and a huge underground lake. There is a circular waterfall walk which takes in some impressive cascades.

There are lots of walks from the door and more nice little villages only a few minutes drive away, though we only used the car once. There is a Co-op store for most needs and some interesting independents in the village, plus a couple of good pubs. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone, and thank you for the nice touches of the wine and fresh flowers

A lovely, cosy cottage, very welcoming with everything needed for an enjoyable stay. The cosy lounge with a log burner was very welcoming at the end of the day, after exploring the surrounding area. A lovely patio to the back of the cottage with wonderful views - would be lovely to sit out here in the summer. The bed was soooo comfortable, with ample storage space in each bedroom - we were not disturbed by any traffic noise, despite being on a busy B road. Parking outside the cottage was just enough for our large car. Spacious bathroom, shower was lovely. The kitchen had a wonderful array of essentials that are often sadly lacking in holiday cottages. The cottage is well placed for walks and drives to neighbouring villages. We did the Ingleton Waterfall Trail, visited Ribblehead Viaduct and the Station Inn, we also managed a hike up Pen-Y-gent, which is part of the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge. Ingleton is a very pretty village and has a lots of lovely independent shops and eateries, along with a few pubs, all well worth a visit. Sadly, we were only able to stay for 4 nights this time, but will definitely be back and would have no hesitation in staying in this cottage again.
