The Sykes booking was simple and efficient.

The owners replied to our questions and gave suggestions on the area. On entering the quaint, historical weavers cottage built in the 1830's we thought Wow! The cottage was big enough for our party(six adults). The views were out of this world. It made us relax and chill immediately. The owners had thought of everything from advice on the local area in Golcar and further afield. The array of walks are superb. The owners thought of all the little things to begin our short break. The cottage was exceptionally clean, well loved over time and prepared for guests to a extremely high standard. The stairs are steep and therefore I would not recommend for the older generation. My daughter was impressed by the piano and my son the array of pubs close by. We all would recommend this cottage. A gem of a find in the Colne valley(age range between 24 and 55yrs).

Ginnel Corner is a character, cosy cottage.

We found it warm and comfortable and everything we needed for a weeks stay was provided. The views from the cottage across the valley are stunning and the cottage is very quiet even though it is in the heart of Golcar. There is a Co-op, a butcher's, a post office and a pub and restaurant within a couple of minutes walk. In addition there's an excellent farm shop (Bolster Moor) within a few minutes drive. We found the kitchen rather small as we prefer to buy local produce and cook rather than eating out, but it was adequate for a weeks stay and was reasonably well equipped. You can park on the roadside outside the cottage but there are steps down to the cottage so loading/ unloading the car is a bit of a chore - especially as we arrived in snow! We enjoyed our stay in Ginnel Corner and would recommend it.

The property and grounds are even better than the photos suggest, donât be put off by the nearby industry because your a million miles from that once your at the place.

The rooms are spacious & decorated to a high standard & add to this a well equipped modern kitchen & a superb church feeling dinning area, thereâs a great choice of bedrooms with different bed arrangements & toilets etc with comfy large beds with plenty of bedding etc. Outside there is a beautiful kept lawn & grounds & also a large outside dinning table & water features, behind the property thereâs a wood to walk & explore or walk the dog , then back indoors thereâs beds provided to let them relax. The owner Neil is very welcoming & nothing seems an effort for him & is always willing to help you & will do anything to make your stay an enjoyable one & is also the most dog friendly rental Iâve ever come across. I genuinely couldnât pick a fault with the property or the owner.

It was my 50th birthday celebration with my friends we all enjoyed our stay so much at Woodbottom Farm.

The house was very spacious and the bedrooms and bathrooms were lovely and big. The kitchen & dining room were lovely decorated and big, they need to be for the food and alcohol(mainly the alcohol). Could have done with a bigger fridge and some cooking utensils and a cutlery draw. We did the walk to the Folly Dolly Falls which only took 20 mins, so we carried on to the town to visit the pubs. We got a taxi back and was surprised at the low cost for a mini bus it was Â£6. Neil & Sharon were lovely hostess so thank you for letting my friends in a little early to decorate the house with my face and birthday banners. Thank you to them both and their lovely holiday home.

Blown away and perfect!!!! I was brought here for my birthday by my partner and surprised by my friends on my arrival. My first thoughts where what a beautiful home and extremely clean and so well equipped. Neil & Sharon, what lovely, fantastic hosts and unbelievable entertainers!!! To my surprise my friends had booked Neil & Sharon for the night time entertainment and my god I am so grateful. A night to remember for sure and something I will cherish forever.
