From here you can visit wonderful places such as the charming village of Slaithwaite and the market town of Huddersfield with its large number of shops, restaurants and bars to enjoy. For a dose of the outdoors, head to the Peak District National Park just a short drive away. Bobbin Cottage is a pleasant cottage in an excellent West Yorkshire location.
Golcar is a village on a hillside crest above the Colne Valley, 2.5 miles from Huddersfield. Golcar has cobbled streets with shops, restaurants, the Golcar Brewery, a butchers, bakers, delicatessen and pubs. Enjoy walks through countryside, along the river or canal to Slaithwaite, Marsden or Huddersfield with its leisure facilities and Victorian architecture. It's on the edge of the Peak District National Park which and offering outdoor activities amongst scenery and local festivals, Golcar provides a base for your West Yorkshire getaway.

The bathroom door would not close, which was really inconvenient because it was directly off from the sitting room, this was most probably due to the damp conditions. No teapot nor chopping boards, we purchased the items from a charity shop and left them behind. This cottage was a real disappointment.

A general musty smell in the cottage. Would not recommend. This seriously affected the enjoyment of our holiday. Otherwise listing accurate and we enjoyed exploring the location. For Sykes staff only - Refer to my complaint COR-117882-CF and understand that I was refused compensation despite the cottage owners being at fault
