Site Description

Raywell Hall Country Lodges is part of our Autograph Lodge Holidays Collection, set in the beautifully landscaped grounds of an elegant 19th century manor house at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds Way. Awarded the David Bellamy Gold Award for conservation and surrounded by undulating countryside peppered with picture-postcard villages, this is a perfect retreat for romantic escapes, revitalising breaks, or simply unwinding in an idyllic hideaway amidst Yorkshire’s glorious East Riding.

Part of an exciting development, these spacious, well-appointed lodges have the emphasis firmly on luxury and comfort. Sink into the tranquil atmosphere and wonderful country estate views from your hot tub, or sample the delights of the traditional tearoom and locally sourced produce in the farm shop – the choice is yours!

Close by, the East Riding’s eternally popular coastline hosts beaches, dramatic cliff-top walks, wildlife havens and wild, windswept vistas aplenty. Inland, the sweeping moorland and lush green dales of the North Yorkshire Moors afford scenic walking and cycling, while historic York’s abundant cultural attractions are just 30 miles away.

There is also a convenience store available on the park for all dates.

Would not recommend! On the whole a nice area and the grounds were clean and tidy but the lodge is not what we would consider to be premium but you're paying premium prices.Advertised as a 2 bed lodge but the small room has two singles shoehorned into it with zero floor space for the kids. Their cases had to be in our room.Cob webs and dust in most rooms on arrival which isn't acceptable for a premium/any lodge.Ensuite shower kept flooding and had it been cleaned prior to arrival would have been obvious to management as the foot basin was immediately overflowing. The outdoor garden furniture was rattan and didn't come with cushions making it unusable and the glass in the table wasn't fixed so potentially dangerous with the kids playing. ( I had to secure twice). The website picture of the garden bares no resemblance to the actual setting. We were expecting nice views over the Raywell Hall grounds, instead the trees and bushes have taken over so your view is essentially the garden area.Fridge shelving in door was missing and the one shelf that was in there snapped when we placed a bottle of milk in it.Having to take our bins to the bin compound - ok if you are staying at a caravan/camping site but when paying premium lodge prices I'd expect bins to be collected (every premium lodge we've stayed in this has been the case).2 toilet rolls, 2 black bin bags and 2 dishwasher tablets for a family of 4 for 5 days/ 4nights isn't acceptable.Hot tub - firstly is installed the wrong way around and you struggle to operate the controls when lid is open (or you're sat in it). Secondly it has no cover from the lodge itself so whilst the rain came down I had to hire a gazebo from reception (£45!!!)There are cars passing at all hours and with the rooms being at the roadside it doesn't make it very peaceful at night.TV remote didn't work ( not the end of the world but handy for entertaining the kids whilst making inner etc). The lodge, in my opinion, wasn't designed with hot tub in mind. Carpets throughout the living area means they get soaked when coming in and out of the hot tub. Also there are no heated towel rails to dry anything off.
