Lovely place - nice house and good location. Some basics missing but the staff at the hotel were a great help. WiFi signal not strong but ok.

Be wary if you take a dog. Our dog, who is always walked on a lead, was attacked in the lane outside the cottage by the dogs from the neighouring farm. These dogs run freely in the garden of the cottage, as there is no fence. We ended up leaving early as we were unable to confidently step outside the cottage with our dog.

We loved this cottage. We stayed as a family of four and had plenty of room. It had everything we needed, its beautifully decorated and the surroundings were beautiful. It's not far from Howden which has lovely shops, restaurants and bars although the roads there aren't the best but thats kind of to be expected. The staff at Saltmarshe Hall were so lovely too. We stayed for a couple of weeks while we were having work done to our home so we came with a lot of stuff and probably not the typical guest and they couldn't have been more accomodating to us. If you can get out for a walk I'd recommend it too, you can even borrow wellies from the reception. Overall, I would definitely recommend and we will be returning!
