The lodge is in a beautiful setting. It's a lovely rural retreat. Loved sitting on the deck in the morning and evening with a brew/wine and watching the family of rabbits and other wildlife. It's very tranquil. The lodge is so pretty and clean and comfy. We literally felt like we were in Canada or a ski village. Beds super cozy, loads of storage for clothes, big fluffy towels. Loads of stuff in the kitchen to cook with. Bathrooms are wet rooms so maybe bring flip flops but hot showers so all good.No noise from anywhere so lovely night's sleep. There isn't much right on your doorstep but you can easily get all you need in nearby villages or towns.Easily room for 3 cars on the drive and it's right next to the lodge.Uber from York back was £27 which was a bargain we thought. The owner was lovely and helpful and on hand if needed but otherwise you are left alone to enjoy the lodge. We also thought value for money especially in April.Would highly recommend to anyone.

Spacious clean lodge in a quiet area. A good location for central Yorkshire. We visited York, Selby Abbey, Burnby Hall Gardens and Yorkshire wildlife park whilst we were there. Very peaceful and we loved watching the wild rabbits in the garden. Helpful and friendly owner. Thank you for the tea/coffee & biscuits. Would recommend and hope to return in the future.

As a long stay guest, Bank End Cottage is a gem, its spacious and well equipped with everthing you could possibly need for a stay here. Its location is very quiet and peacefull, but still close to a few local shops. The only thing as a longer stay guest i missed was a washing machine, although can appreciate this is not a neccessity for shorter stays. Tony and Becca are perfect hosts .
