Further afield, spend a day exploring the town of Selby, it offers a wide variety of amenities as well as an astonishing abbey and the Summit Indoor Adventure for those of you young at heart. York is also most certainly worth a visit, providing some beautiful buildings, the majestic minster and much to do. A splendid retreat in a lovely countryside location.
A village in the East Riding of Yorkshire, Ellerton is home to a The Shoe and Boot Inn serving food and the Half Moon Brewery. Try golfing at the nearby golf course, or stroll through the Lower Derwent Valley National Nature Reserve north of the village. For a selection of places to shop, eat, drink and have fun, head to Selby where you can explore its amenities and the Selby Abbey, or the Summit Indoor Adventure centre. York is 15 miles away, a great day out with the York Minster, the Shambles and museums. A fine touring base for east and north Yorkshire.

Very comfortable and good facilities. The welcome pack was a very nice touch, even including a doggy treat pack which our westie enjoyed very much. The bed was large and comfy and sleeping was no problem at all. Plenty of info provided for local amenities and getting about. We used the park and ride a couple of times for travelling to York. This was one of our best cottage breaks, lovely cottage set in a gorgeous village, couldn't be better.

We meet the owners only briefly and we did not find any reason to call on them. Inglewood is a perfect little getaway for a couple and their dog. The location is amazingly quiet and the people of Ellerton village were very friendly. The current owners have just sold the property but hopefully the new owners will continue to rent out Inglewood for future customers to enjoy. Good luck with the move.
