About this property

Situated in the heart of Skipsea, East Riding of Yorkshire, is this character-filled, semi-detached cottage, Rhodale Cottage. Enjoying a fantastic location within the Yorkshire Wolds and an interior boasting original features, including exposed beams and stonework, Rhodale Cottage is a superb dwelling for couples or a family of four. Step into the traditional dining room with seating for four, where you can look forward to savouring tasty dishes with your loved ones as you recount the days adventures. A well-equipped kitchen ensures you have all you need to whip flavourful meals, which can also be enjoyed alfresco out on your own private patio. After dinner, retire to the spacious sitting room, adorned with character, where you can snuggle up on the plush seating and enjoy a movie night with loved ones on the TV. Climb the stairs up to the first floor and you'll immediately see the sloped ceilings and low beams adding to the authentic feel of the cottage. Discover the bathroom where you can wash away the day with a soak in the beautiful freestanding bath, or freshen up in the large walk-in shower, before retiring to either the king-size or double to catch your rest. Explore the local village, where you can treat your loved ones to a meal at the Board Inn, stock-up on essentials at the supermarket, pick-up a sweet treat from Mr Moo’s Ice Cream Parlour or visit the former site of Skipsea Castle. For a day at the beach, head over to Hornsea, where you can bathe on the sands and paddle the shores, take to the waters of Hornsea Mere, delve into history at the Hornsea Museum, or enjoy a fun-filled day at Bugtopia Hornsea Zoo. Continue onto Bridlington, where you can continue the beach fun, visit The Bayle Museum and nearby Sewerby Hall & Gardens, or further afield to Driffield, with its World Rangers Way trail, the Driffield Showground, and an excellent golf club. All this and more awaits at Rhodale Cottage.

Skipsea, a small village in the Yorkshire Wolds, is near to the North Sea and only a mile from the coast. The area is known for its rich agricultural land and picturesque landscape. There is a Post Office, a local store, a salon, and a bar all within walking distance in this little community. Cobblestones from the beach are used in the construction of many of the older and newer homes in the community. The ruins of Skipsea Castle can be found on the outskirts of the community. Both Bridlington and Filey are close by, and both have vast stretches of sandy beach and a wide variety of resort attractions, while the surrounding countryside is great for walking and cycling. With attractions like the Deep Submarium in Hull, Sledmere House, and Burton Constable Hall all within 20 miles, the shops, cathedral, and museum of historic York, the resort town of Scarborough, and the North Yorks Moors Steam Railway in Pickering all within an hour's drive, and Whitby just a little further, Skipsea is a great place to set up camp for a relaxing vacation.

  • Anne

The owner was very welcoming and offered lots of information about the locality. Couldn’t ask for more!

  • Robert

The cottage was warm, had excellent wi-fi and every utensil possible within the kitchen. Communication from Ann was excellent in advance of our visit, not only in relation to the property, but also ideas for days out in the local area. Would certainly recommend this extremely clean property to family and friends.

  • Hollie

The host was helpful in communications we had. It was in a quiet location which was great for the evenings. Well situated for trips out and a pub only steps away.
