The surrounding area is ideal for cyclists and walkers, with numerous nearby footpaths, whilst Hornsea and Bridlington are a short drive away. There are many attractions in the area, including the RSPB reserve at Bempton, a must for summer visitors for its puffins and gannets, Hornsea Mere watersports and stately homes such as Sledmere House and Burton Constable Hall.
