It was everything we expected being very well used to cottage breaks.

The views of the lighthouse, the sea and the countryside are amazing. There are some really lovely walks close by and great for 'twitchers' and beaches are dog friendly. We sampled a number of local take aways, such as The Indian Palace, 149 Fish and Chips and the China City, all lovely. In addition we had a lovely breakfast at 'Headlands' at the lighthouse. The property itself is spacious enough, however, we were disappointed at the overall cleanliness of the carpets, furniture and bedding amongst other things. These issues we feel could be easily rectified by the owners. We raised our concerns with Sykes at the beginning of our holiday and afterwards. Since our return home we have been assured that the owners have taken action to rectify the problems and the issues we raised. I really do hope they have as this is a lovely spot for a relaxing break,

I dont know what your policy is about spot checking the properties you have on your books. but your reputation has been tarnished with this property. the cleanliness of the property was the worst I have ever stayed in the carpets throughout the property were filthy, the soft furnishings in both lounge and conservatory were so badly marked we had to purchase throws to enable us to sit on the on the furniture. We had to clean one of the onsuite facilities before we could use it. the kitchen utensils were very basic not something we have come to expect in your properties. we now realise we should have complained to the owner but how could we expect them to clean carpets and furniture while we were there it would have been another days disruption to our holiday when we had already lost one day because on the Monday we were notified we would have no electricity from 9am to 4pm. We feel very let down by this property we made our complaints known to the owner in the visitor book.
