Don't stay here if you are looking for privacy or peace as you won't get it - The Parlour is the end accomodation which, in a u shape, surrounds a central courtyard. Everyone who is staying in the buildings around the courtyard passes by to get to and from their vehicles passing through a hand gate which bangs every time. It is also passed by everyone around the site in static vans on their way to and from the cafe, outside toys and shop etc so if you have your curtains open everyone looks in. The walls are either paper thin or badly insulated as downstairs in the lounge you can hear every conversation from the neighbouring accomodation and in the master bedroom you can hear every conversation, every shower and every toilet visit - yes literally every tinkle, plop and flush! You can also hear every creak of the floorboards - and they are very creaky! The kitchen on first glance is nice but on closer inspection the fridge door shelves are broken and taped over, the kitchen table only has 2 chairs out of the 4 which match and 1 of them is coming apart, the plates and bowls are mismatched and chipped, the glasses are odd and the plastic handles on the cutlery are loose and gappy. The baking tray is not meant for the oven so it doesn't fit meaning that it can only be used on a shelf rather than slotted in taking up cooking space. Plus the kitchen clock doesn't work. There are information posters up in the kitchen but they are clearly out of date as they are about COVID and the nearest defribrillator which, according to the kitchen poster is at The Nags Head just down the road when it's actually on site. In the lounge the thick rug on the floor was covered in bits and food debris - in the end we rolled it up only to find a huge amount of dirt, food bits and even part of a book under it - clearly it had never been moved. In the master bedroom ensuite there is no curtain so best not to use with the bathroom light on unless you like a courtyard audience while you are on the toilet or getting dry. There is a jacuzzi bath but it doesn't work and judging by previous reviews it hasn't worked for some time! The water pressure is woefully low so if you do want to have a bath leave plenty of time for it to run.The three square glasses on the window sill have, we presume, been used for toothbrushes at some point as they were not clean at all. There is a toilet radiator in both ensuites but the one in the master ensuite is rusty, with the paint all flaking off so, if you do use it for towels make sure you pick off the paint shards off the towel before you get dry. It was also very dusty - particularly around the toilet and cistern. Also if you are afraid of spiders it's probably one to avoid judging by the cobwebs everywhere and the spiders which lurk in the curtains - which are far too long upstairs.

Had a fantastic weekend with friends. The cottage is basic, but clean with everything you need for a short break. Location was great for us, with a short taxi drive to Beverley. The Nags Head is great for something to eat and walking distance back to the cottage. Breakfast on site ws 5 out of 5. The coast is also a short drive away. Would stay again. Not really for familys, as very quite.

Only real issue was the jaccuzi spa bath did not work, but it looked a bit limescaled up and did not fancy using it just as a bath so used the shower in other bedroom. They did offer to ask onsite electrician to look at it but as it was Christmas Eve we said to leave it and sort for next holiday guests.Reception kind and helpful the few issues we had (tv/ kettle gave up) were replaced immediately. Overall very good stay.
