A charming 17th century, stone-built detached farmhouse located in the village of Hathersage; a warm and welcoming holiday accommodation for families or friends. Bring everyone along on this adventure to explore the countryside surroundings and charming Peak District from one day to the next. Inside, the ground floor is home to a utility area and a well-equipped kitchen where you can prepare your favourite meals and enjoy a cup of tea in the morning hours. The separate dining room is perfect for an evening meal and boasts beams and a woodburner to enhance those cosy nights in. A reception room and living area make a lovely place to relax in the evening, ideal for watching TV as you cosy up on the L-shape sofa. A staircase is tucked away into the corner of the room and leads you up to a family-friendly room with a king-size and single bed. Take the stairs up to the next floor where you will arrive at a double bedroom with a beautiful en-suite. Two further king-size rooms boast wonderful views, a vanity unit, and Velux windows to bring the outside in. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to getting ready, with a shower room and bathroom resting close by. Spend some time outside on the patio area to be at one with the rural grounds and take a second to enjoy the breath-taking landscape. Hathersage lies within the Peak District National Park at the beginning of the Hope Valley and is close to excellent walking at Edale where there is a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat, as well as a public, open air heated swimming pool and a railway station. Situated within the Peak District National Park at the beginning of the Hope Valley and close to excellent walking at Edale, lies the village of Hathersage. For a village of its size there is a very good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat, as well as a public, open air heated swimming pool and railway station. This is a great setting for exploring the local area and beyond.

Six adults and three children were all catered for. We managed to cook every meal including a Sunday roast on the aga which was easy to use once we'd figured it out. The property was within easy distance to walk into Hathersage and the garden was safe for the children and dog to play in. Just wished the weather had been a bit kinder but you can't have everything. A few smaller glasses would have been useful but that was the only thing missing. Thankyou we had a lovely weekend and hope to return in the future.

The cottage is beautiful and benefits from an extra seating area adjacent to the kitchen, a welcome addition! We also very much appreciated the welcome basket, thank you! Perhaps some washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets too? We were really pleased with the cottage overall. The only gripes would be poor water pressure meaning that we had to run one shower at a time and even then it came out as not much more than a dribble, no hot water from Saturday afternoon (we left on Sunday otherwise we would have reported this), no mattress protector on one of the double beds. I would be much more inclined to book this property in the future if one of the double bedrooms was a twin. All in all a pleasant stay and we would consider booking again.

Loads of room for a large family and a secure garden for the dog. We will definitely be booking again.....recommended.
