Waterside Lodge Six offers a modern, well-equipped and spacious retreat in a peaceful canal-side setting, ideal for groups and families. Guests praise the comfortable beds, relaxing hot tub, and thoughtful touches such as towels and milk on arrival. The lodge is well located for walks and exploring nearby towns. While some mention minor maintenance issues, occasional cleanliness concerns, and a drain smell, the overall experience is positive, with many guests keen to return and recommend the property.
Most guests found the lodge clean and tidy, with fresh bedding and well-presented interiors. However, several reviews mention issues such as dirty outdoor areas, cobwebs, and occasional drain smells, as well as some wear and tear. These mixed experiences bring the score to above average but not excellent.
The location is frequently praised for its peaceful setting by the canal, proximity to Brighouse and Elland, and access to scenic walks. Some guests note it can be tricky to find in the dark and is a short drive from amenities, but overall the setting is a highlight.
Guests generally found the lodge spacious and the beds comfortable, with good heating and relaxing features like the log burner and hot tub. Some mention noise between floors, limited seating for larger groups, and occasional cold bedrooms, but comfort is overall well rated.
The lodge is well equipped with modern amenities, a hot tub, smart TV, and kitchen essentials. Some maintenance issues are noted, such as worn furniture, minor repairs needed, and hot tub jets not always working perfectly, but facilities are generally appreciated and functional.
Guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as towels, milk in the fridge, and underfloor heating in bathrooms. Please note that these extras are not guaranteed for every stay. Staff were described as friendly and helpful, though a few guests experienced slow communication.

We enjoyed our stay at the lodge. As the lodge sleeps 8 it would have been great to have more comfy seating in the main sitting room. Felt like we were all sat on top of each other. The hot tub was great but was not maintained daily so by day 3 it was was unusable. Next to our lodge there was also a very stinky waste water pond. This was obviously the waste water from the hot tubs and it produced a really foul smell. The kitchen was well stocked and the dishwasher tablets came in handy. On our arrival there was a bag on the top balcony full of dirty nappies that had been left. Not ideal. Beds were comfy and showers and constant hot water was great.

We loved this lodge. Beautiful setting, exceptional furnishings (except sofa is worn and needs replaced). Would fully recommend.

Just returned from a long weekend staying in lodge six. After reading reviews about the lodge getting cold during the winter months I had a slight concern as the temps were due to drop when we were there. The lodge was very well heated and if anything it got too warm at times. The lodge was spacious and very well equipped. Smart TV was a very nice touch and the WiFi was very good, streaming videos without any issues. Lovely walks along the canal into brighouse where there are plenty of places to eat, drink and explore. As others have mention, not ideal if you have access disabilities due to the stairs and the steep bank leading down to the lodges. Overall, a fantastic weekend and we would definitely return. My only very small gripe was the very low cold water pressure on the kitchen sink. Even filling a kettle was a pain. Maybe something the staff can look at and repair.
