About this property

A delightful, semi-detached, stone-built cottage, part of a former farmstead in an enviable location amid beautiful rolling Dales countryside in Oxenhope, on the outskirts of Haworth, home of the famous Bronte Sisters. Set near to the owners’ home and on the side of a hillside with outstanding views, including of the wonderful steam railway, this cottage is a real delight and offers first-class holiday accommodation, ideal for a couple or small family. This characterful cottage has been lovingly restored by the current owners, and features tasteful styling which combines well with the features of the old cottage. The open plan living area has painted ceiling beams and comprises of a lovely, warm and snug sitting area with mullioned window looking out across the courtyard, and a well-equipped kitchen diner with pretty views across the owners’ gardens.

The first floor boasts two pretty bedrooms, a modern bathroom and a feature window on the landing, with long-distance views across to the nearby fells. The cottage is in a wonderful setting, with views of the surrounding meadows and fells and everything close at hand, including the many sights and sounds of Haworth, which is just a ten-minute walk. Outside to the front is a small seating area, ideal for relaxing after a day out exploring Top Withens, made famous in Wuthering Heights. Skipton is nearby with its cobbled streets and castle, whilst the Victorian spa town of Harrogate boasts fabulous shops, an excellent theatre and the fantastic Royal Pump Room Museum.

A lovely countryside retreat with the added benefit of all the amenities of the town virtually on the doorstep.

The small village of Oxenhope lies amid wonderful scenery, and offers the chance to take advantage of the multitude of walks in the area. The village, with its shops, churches and pubs, is home to the terminus for the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, which runs on a regular basis to Haworth and on down to Keighley.
