About this property

Haworth 3.5 miles. Perched near the Yorkshire Dales National Park in Laycock near Haworth, West Yorkshire is this charming three-bedroom holiday home, Yippee Cottage. Boasting great access to the local amenities, a woodburning stove and enclosed garden, Yippee Cottage welcomes five guests to relish a peaceful escape in Yorkshire. Cross the threshold into your new abode to be impressed by a characterful yet stylish kitchen/diner boasting all the necessary appliances to ease your self-catered stay; allow your other half to whip up a feast for the whole family, ready to be enjoyed at the intimated dining table over a bottle of fizz. If you prefer to dine alfresco, ensure to make full use of the enclosed garden, or during cooler months, retreat to the conservatory where you can enjoy an afternoon tipple whilst still soaking up views of your lovely surroundings.

Indulge in a movie night in the homely sitting room, adorned with a TV and woodburning stove for the perfect home-from-home feel. When you begin to tire, wash away the day in a sleek shower room before choosing from three neatly-presented bedrooms including a super-king-size, second-floor twin (zip and link) and a single, to rest your head in.

Well situated within reach of the delightful village of Haworth, this wonderful location is brimming with a traditional charm throughout, from its cobbled streets, antique stores, traditional sweet shops and pubs, it's a beautiful place to explore and the best place to absorb that authentic Yorkshire culture.

Haworth is also very rich in history, we have the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway which reopened in 1968 and runs from Keighley to Oxenhope through the beautiful Brontë country running heritage steam and diesel trains.

The five-mile journey is a great experience to enjoy the beautiful countryside and is a true testament to our industrial heritage.

The Railway hosts a number of events throughout the year including a Steam Gala, music festivals and beer festivals.

If you are familiar with the Brontë family, we would defiantly recommend a visit to the Brontë Parsonage Museum, A historical museum which is the home of the Bronte family, here they have original exhibits of the sisters with detailed descriptions and preserved artefacts.

If you would like to venture further into the history of the Bronte sisters, Haworth Parish Church is worth a visit, entering this lovely church is like stepping back in time and a great piece of architecture to behold.

You will be spoilt for choice when it's time to eat; Cobbles & Clay is perfect for a light bite, while a little further away you can find an inviting bistro, Pavé, for a meal before discovering the local microbrewery, Haworth Steam Brewing Co. Well-positioned to visit the market town of Skipton, be sure to embark on a boat tour via the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, indulge in some retail therapy or tour the wonderful Skipton Castle; if you prefer bustling city life, Leeds resides only a short car journey away and offers and abundance of things to see and do including Leeds City Museum, Tropical World and Middleton Park. Why not treat your loved ones to a memorable escape in Yorkshire at Yippee Cottage.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.

We were there for two weeks and it is one of the best we have ever stayed in, and there have been a lot. Excellent kitchen for cooking and eating in, comfortable sitting room with pleasant conservatory overlooking the garden, and very comfy beds. Hosts were so helpful and we were greeted by a lovely selection of local food and drinks. Everything for the dog too. Fully recommended.
