About this property

Oakworth 2.2 miles. Resting on the idyllic Pepper Pot Farm on the outskirts of Oakworth, West Yorkshire is this rustic, romantic cottage, The Salt Pot. The property offers two guests a rural retreat in a gorgeous farmhouse setting, with plenty of character and amenities for your self-catering stay. Park up in the off-road parking space and immediately take in your peaceful surroundings; there's outdoor seating to admire the views with a hot beverage every morning! Inside The Salt Pot, a large, open-plan living area welcomes you home; prepare heart-warming meals in the well-equipped, country-style kitchen with an LPG gas cooker, dishwasher and a beautiful, double copper basin with a stained glass window above, overlooking the hills. After toasting to your retreat at the rustic dining table, retire to the sitting area, whether that's snuggling up in front of the TV on the leather sofa, or in the armchairs with a good book by the crackling woodburner. Freshen up in the charming cloakroom with quirky, handmade furnishings, including an old-fashioned WC and a basin made of a jam pot and bell. When it's time to rest, find the pretty king-size bedroom with a vintage dresser and a freestanding, infrared sauna for the ultimate relaxation after a long walk. Start your day with a hot shower in the en-suite shower room, complete with a heated towel rail for added comfort, before exploring the local area. Pack your walking boots to embark on a walk in the surrounding moors, valleys and countryside, followed by lunch in the nearby village of Oakworth; Newsholme Manor and The Golden Fleece serve classic British dishes or pick up your favourite ingredients at the local shop. Take a stroll around the picturesque village, famed as the filming location for the 1970s The Railway Children, whilst Haworth is nearby for literary fans. Home of the celebrated Brontë sisters, you'll find plenty of curious shops down alleyways and cobbled streets, alongside Brontë Parsonage Museum, or venture into the stunning countryside to discover Brontë Waterfall! Spend the day in the larger market town of Keighley to marvel at Cliffe Castle, East Riddlesden Hall or catch a show at Keighley Playhouse. If you've come to visit the scenic Yorkshire Dales National Park, stop off at Skipton on your journey north to visit the medieval castle, stroll along the canal and fuel up in a classic pub. For a romantic cottage in Yorkshire, secure your stay at The Salt Pot.

Oakworth is a small village two miles from Haworth that overlooks the Worth Valley and was made famous by the filming of E.E. Nesbitt's novel, The Railway Children in 1970. Oakworth boasts a magnificent ornamental park and is within easy reach of the town of Keighley, in addition to its vicinity to Haworth and the moors. The famed Brontë sisters, who were much inspired by the surrounding moorland, lived in nearby Haworth. Haworth features a plethora of curious and antique shops, as well as alleyways and cobblestone streets.
