About this property

Resting on the outskirts of Keighley, a market town in West Yorkshire is The Retreat, a delightful two-bedroom apartment. Within proximity to a range of amenities and a short drive away from the Yorkshire Dales National Park, whilst offering four guests an open-plan living space, well-equipped kitchen, and a private patio, the apartment offers the ideal base for a family, looking to experience a nature-filled break. Park up and reach the entrance, arriving at the living space, where you can relax in front of the Smart TV, rustle up delicious meals, and dine as a group, before clearing up with the handy dishwasher. For some fresh air, head outdoors to the private patio, ideal for enjoying a late-night tipple, before retiring to one of two bedrooms on offer, including a double and a twin. Awaken to a refreshing shower before venturing beyond your abode and into the town centre, where you can stock up on the essentials at several supermarkets or dine out at a host of cafés and restaurants. Within the area you'll also have the chance to tour Cliffe Castle Museum, enjoying neo-gothic architecture, opt for a competitive game of golf at Branshaw Golf Club, or discover East Riddlesden Hall, a 17th-century manor house, nurtured by the National Trust. Heading west, take in the stunning scenery at Goit Stock Waterfall, brush up on your knowledge at Brontë Parsonage Museum, hike towards Bronte Waterfall, or aboard the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, a heritage site, offering a 5-mile trip throughout the heart of West Yorkshire. Venturing north, take a stroll around the blooming grounds of Ilkley Park/Riverside Gardens, explore the Stepping Stones of Bolton Abbey, or appreciate the remains of Bolton Priory and the abundance of moorland walks within the area. Nearby there are lots of festivals to attend all year around, which could serve as a great day out. Take to West Yorkshire by booking The Retreat.

The sizable market town of Keighley is located in West Yorkshire's Aire valley, conveniently close to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The wool and cotton industries helped the Domesday Book-mentioned town expand during the 18th and 19th centuries. The Keighley and Worth Valley Light Railway, made famous by the 1970s movie The Railway Children, passes through the town for five miles to the village of Oxenhope. The town also has a shopping centre, bars, takeaways, and restaurants. On the town's outskirts are two retail parks. East Riddlesden Hall, a magnificent 17th-century National Trust property, is only one mile outside of town, while Haworth, the place made renowned as the Bronte sisters' home, is only four miles distant.

It has everything you can possibly wish for in a holiday cottage and then some (in particular having sufficient coat hangers to use)! Facilities were excellent, and surrounding area is so peaceful! Would not hesitate to return to this cottage!

So relaxing. So clean. Also in a beautiful, central location just far enough out of town to where you can see some nice views, and not far away from some really epic walks. The owners are accommodating and very sweet. I can’t recommend this place enough.

The owner provided comfort above and beyond what you would expect and was really helpful if we had any questions about where to go and what was available. We would definitely return and give it top marks and above.
