Guests say

Guests consistently praise Street Head Farm for its stunning location, cleanliness, and comfort. The property is well-equipped for large family gatherings, offering a homely atmosphere with beautiful views. The hosts' warm welcome, often with homemade treats, adds a personal touch, enhancing the overall experience.

Reviewers frequently mention the property being 'spotlessly clean' and very well maintained, indicating high standards of cleanliness that contribute to the comfort and enjoyment of their stay.

The property's location is highly praised for its magnificent views and proximity to local attractions and towns. Its remote setting provides a peaceful retreat while still being accessible, making it an ideal base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales.

Numerous guests have commented on the comfortable furnishings and cosy atmosphere of the property. The presence of a real 'home from home' feeling and the provision of comfortable beds contribute to a restful and enjoyable stay.

The farmhouse is described as extremely well-equipped, with a kitchen that meets the needs of large groups, and ample entertainment options like games and books. However, one mention of a cooker not being fully adequate for 10 adults slightly impacts the score.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident through the frequent mentions of welcome surprises such as homemade cake and marmalade. While these gestures are greatly appreciated by guests, it is politely noted that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed with every stay.

About this property

Lothersdale 2 miles. Skipton 5 miles. Award-winning Street Head Farm is something a bit special! Taking its name from a little-known Roman route across open farmland, it is situated in a wonderful elevated position and offers incredible open views across glorious Dales countryside. The property is stone-built and has been completely renovated to offer superb holiday accommodation, which is furnished to a high standard. Care has been taken to retain its original charm and features include stone flagged floors and original beams. The owners live on a nearby working farm and personally welcome visitors.

Nestled in a peaceful valley of the Pennine Hills is the charming village of Lothersdale, just five miles from the market town of Skipton. At one time, this lovely little town was home to the famous writer, Charlotte Bronte, who went on to base Gateshead Hall from her novel ‘Jane Eyre' on Stone Gappe House where she was governess. Many of the visitors today come to the village for its excellent walking routes as it is situated along the Pennine Way - on the stretch from Cowling to Gargrave. The village pub is well worth visiting and serves food whilst the nearby town of Skipton provides an excellent range of amenities. Just a short drive away is the town of Haworth, the Bronte's home and the famous Worth Valley Steam Railway.

The house was perfect for all of us. Grandad had his own space to go on the ground floor the annexe was perfect. The living room was just right for us all to play games together. The kitchen had everything we needed to cater for everyone. The walks and views were amazing. We had lovely weather so it was great to sit outside and enjoy the view for a morning brew. This felt like a real home from home. We appreciated the tea loaf, tea bags and marmalade as the welcome gift. Everyone agreed we would visit again. Thank you for a lovely stay.
