Guests say

Kestrel Cottage in Keighley is highly praised for its cleanliness, warm hospitality, and stunning views. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities, cosy comfort, and thoughtful touches like homemade scones. The property offers a peaceful setting with easy access to local attractions and walks, making it an ideal retreat in the Yorkshire Dales.

Reviewers consistently mention the spotless condition of the cottage, indicating exceptional cleanliness that contributes to a comfortable and welcoming stay.

The property's location is celebrated for its magnificent views and proximity to great walks and local towns, although one review mentions challenging access due to narrow roads.

Guests find the cottage to be cosy and comfortable, with underfloor heating and a log burner adding to the ambience. The presence of a secure garden for dogs also contributes to the overall comfort.

The cottage is well-equipped with everything needed for a stay, including kitchen amenities and information for local exploration. One review suggests the double bed is firm, but this is a minor point within overall positive feedback.

Many guests mention the thoughtful gestures of the hosts, such as providing homemade scones and essentials like milk and toilet paper. While these gifts are warmly received, they are a gracious bonus and may vary with each stay.

About this property

Silsden 2 miles. A cosy stone-built, 16th century, mid-terrace farmhouse offering two delightful bedrooms, shower room and ground floor basin and WC. There is a separate stylish and modern kitchen and the sitting room has a dining area with a woodburner in an inglenook fireplace. This stylish cottage provides the perfect base for couples and small families to get away from it all and enjoy the great outdoors. Note: This cottage is next door to Ref. 915699, together they sleep 8.

The pretty town of Silsden, set on the edge of the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park, commands sweeping views of the River Aire and its valley, and has a thriving community with local amenities. Although Silsden was originally an agricultural town, the construction of the nearby Leeds and Liverpool Canal meant that it later became an important centre for the mill industry, however the local economy is now largely supported by tourism, and it has become a perfect place to stay and explore the local area. Down the Aire Valley lies historic Skipton, known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, a quaint market town boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2008, the Academy of Urbanism voted the high street as the best shopping spot in Britain, and the Copper Dragon Brewery, opened in 2002, is highly rated in the camra listings.
