About this property

A stone-built end-terrace cottage oozing with character and charm, located in a quiet corner of the famous village of Haworth, 14 miles from Skipton. An unusual layout, set out over three floors, this lovely cottage is just perfect for a small group or family to get away from it all and enjoy this historic area. The current owners have painstakingly preserved the original features of this historic old cottage, stone-flagged flooring, exposed stone walls, old beams, original stone staircase and much more. The main kitchen with dining area is a real delight with a warming stove, a good range of equipment and an extendable dining table, a great place to get together and enjoy a sumptuous meal. The sitting room, again with a cosy woodburning stove, is full of character, with the old stone stairs dominating one end of the room and an original stone sink set by the window, strange but somehow it works and transports guests back to a bygone age. The lower ground floor, accessed by the original stone stairs, consists of a vaulted cellar and a lovely snug with woodburning stove, dart board for an evening of fun, a seating area and a dining area all leading out to the rear courtyard. The three bedrooms, all with wooden flooring on the first floor are well laid out and served by a modern bathroom. A Haworth cottage of charm and distinction and ideally placed to explore the famous old town. Steeped in literary history and formerly home to the Bronte sisters, Haworth has much to offer, including traditional pubs, restaurants and cafes, and a variety of walks allowing visitors to follow in the footsteps of Catherine and Heathcliff. Skipton is nearby with its cobbled streets, delightful castle, weekly market and the best high street in Britain. Just over the hill is the ever-popular and quirky old Calderdale town of Hebden Bridge, well worth a visit. Treat yourself to a bygone age and enjoy this lovely Yorkshire Dales cottage.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere and all this against a backdrop of wild and rugged countryside.
