About this property

Orchard Cottage is a wonderful 18th century, Grade ll listed thatched property, sleeping four guests in two welcoming bedrooms, nestled in the heart of the popular village Broadway. It is the perfect retreat for a couple, small family or group of friends who are seeking a relaxing getaway surrounded by the glorious Cotswold countryside.

A stable door opens into the entrance hall, which is perfect for kicking off your boots, before walking down two steps into the elegant, dual aspect sitting room, which has exposed wooden beams and an eye-catching Cotswold stone feature wall with a Cotswold stone fireplace housing a warming electric stove-effect fire, perfect for warming your cockles on a cold evening whilst you enjoy a fun-filled game night using the selection of board games on offer.

Overlooking the tranquil garden, the bright and tastefully decorated kitchen/diner has everything you require for rustling up a tasty evening meal as you all retreat around the wooden dining table and listen to your favourite tunes on the stereo.

Once you’ve indulged in your lovely home-cooked meal, head to the bathroom to have a relaxing soak in the bubbles before heading to the concealed staircase in the sitting room which lead up to the eaves of the cottage where you will find two homely double bedrooms, both with ample storage space.

In the morning, make yourself a steaming cup of coffee using the coffee percolator, to be enjoyed out in the beautiful garden where there are three lovely areas to choose from; the wonderful patio area which contains a two-seater Rattan sofa and two armchairs, a lovely spot to enjoy the scents and colours of the garden, a sizeable lawn area and beyond this a gravel area to the rear with an outdoor table and seating for four which has a charcoal barbecue, making it perfect for al fresco dining in the warmer months.

Once you’re ready for the day, take a walk over to Hunters Tea room for a wonderful breakfast, before having a leisurely walk around Broadway to discover an array of individual shops and restaurants, such as Cheltenham House Antiques, Blandford Books and Hamiltons Chocs & Sweets, where you’ll surely not leave empty handed!

Chipping Campden can be easily accessed by taking a scenic walk along the Cotswold Way walking trail and alighting at the War Memorial to enjoy a lovely walk around the 17th century market square before having a well-earned heart-warming meal at Eight Bells Inn.

The wonderful market town of Evesham, is home to the Almonry Museum and gift shop, where you can discover exhibitions about the Abbey, the battle of Evesham in 1265, horticulture in the area, Anglo-Saxon burial treasure, 18th Century clothing and the impact of war upon this little market town – it's a very interesting and educational day out – finish off by taking The Hampton Ferry which is a pedestrian cable ferry linking Evesham and the district of Hampton across the River Avon in the English county of Worcestershire.

Stratford-upon-Avon can be accessed in just over 30 minutes by car, which is the birthplace of William Shakespeare where there is an array of attractions including The Creaky Cauldron, Magic Alley, Tudor World and the beautiful Bancroft Gardens, perfect for a day out with the kids!

A holiday you and the family will not forget, stay at Orchard Cottage.

The charming village of Broadway, known as 'The Jewel of the Cotswolds', nestles beneath the Worcestershire hills. This quintessential English village, one of the most beautiful in the Cotswolds, offers a superb range of unique shops and boutiques, galleries and restaurants, but is also steeped in history with its origins dating back to Roman times. The world-renowned Lygon Arms has been popular for centuries, and now spa facilities can be enjoyed at pre-arranged times. Broadway serves as a great base for exploring the Cotswolds and surrounds with Stratford-upon-Avon, Cheltenham Spa and Worcester within easy reach. With an abundance of National Trust properties, museums, beautiful walks and cycle trails, this really is a great place for a relaxing holiday, all year round.
