Guests say

Shakespeare Lodge offers a pleasant stay with its standout riverside location and quiet park setting. Guests appreciate the spacious living areas, welcoming touches for pets, and thoughtful welcome kits. While some find the lodge to be clean and comfortable, others note it could benefit from a bit of TLC, particularly in terms of maintenance and updating facilities.

Reviews generally describe the lodge as clean, with one specifically noting it was 'very clean'. However, there is a mention of mould in the bathroom, suggesting some room for improvement in this area.

The location is frequently praised, particularly for its riverside setting and the tranquillity of the surrounding park. This suggests a high level of satisfaction with the location.

Comfort receives mixed feedback. Some guests find the lodge stunning and comfortable, while others mention issues with bed comfort and tight bedroom quarters. The presence of both positive and negative comments leads to a moderate score.

Facilities are noted to include a clothes washer, dishwasher, and a deck, but there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as non-working items and the need for TLC. The balance of functional amenities and maintenance concerns results in an average score.

Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like a dog welcome box, chocolates, and wine. While these gestures are well-received, it is important to note that such gifts are kindly provided and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

The lodge was very tired. Lack of maintenance meant there were light shades missing and clock, light bulbs and remote not working. The furniture was scuffed and watermarked. The outlook was onto other lodges with no plants or grass to soften the look.

All in all had a pleasant stay, the location on the river was the standout feature, but the lodge was not of the same standard that we usually have.

The Lodge was to a good standard, no spare cutlery if there was more than six, or actually wanted to cook, the plumbing was not very good as both cistern push buttons needed a ten ton weight to use them, there was a wall clock which did not work as there was no battery in it either fit a battery or take the clock away
