The Cosy Cotswolds Townhouse in Shipston on Stour is generally praised for its well-equipped kitchen, comfortable furnishings, and thoughtful touches like homemade cake and milk. It's situated in a quiet neighbourhood, ideal for exploring the Cotswolds and local amenities. While most guests had a pleasant stay, one review cited cleanliness issues, which seem to be an exception.
Most guests found the property to be spotlessly clean and well-kept, especially considering it is pet-friendly. However, one review detailed significant cleanliness issues, which suggests that there may be occasional lapses in the property's cleaning standards.
The property is consistently commended for its excellent location in a quiet area, within walking distance to the town centre and a short drive to various attractions in the Cotswolds.
Guests generally found the cottage to be comfortable, with cosy beds and a homely feel. There were minor suggestions for improvements, but overall, the comfort level was high.
The property is well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, and guests appreciated the enclosed garden for dogs. Some guests suggested minor maintenance and updates, such as a new sofa and attention to the garden.
Many guests mentioned thoughtful gestures like a homemade cake and milk upon arrival, which added to the welcoming atmosphere of the property. While these gifts are appreciated, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

Nice house just a shame it’s full of FLEAS!! Lots of flea bites and Within a day of being there my dog who is flead every month (And was two weeks before) was itching & crawling with fleas! Expensive Trip to the vets for treatment I’m extremely disappointed with this property, I looked under the beds & cabinet & found years of dirt, hairs, dirty tissues & sweet wrappers. Absolutely FILTHY (have photos of proof) cobwebs everywhere I ended up having to Hoover on arrival, shower head disgusting mouldy and black coming out of it so I had to buy a new one to use!! Red lighting in the bedrooms so dim it was ridiculous. I contacted the owner who wasn’t helpful at all. I do not feel I should have to have paid for flea treatment and flea spray so I could spray the car also but they offered no percentage of compensation and no empathy. The week was ruined! Being extremely unwell I wanted a relaxing break and this as far from that! It’s a shame as with some deep cleaning the house could be lovely. Sofas also need replacing one has a hole in it. It’s evident the house hadn’t had a deep clean in years. Wouldn’t recommend staying unless you want fleas 😰

Probably the best equipped holiday home we have ever stayed in. It's clear that people have lived here and understand what you might need. The space is perfect and the garden completely enclosed and safe for dogs which was the main reason we booked it.It's conveniently situated for travel round the area and Shipston has a range of shops and cafes and pubs if you want to stay local.Nice touch of having homemade cake and a pint of milk left so you dont need to shop straight away.Honestly can't find a fault with this place and would happily return.
