Puddle Duck Cottage is a beautifully presented 3-bedroom, 2 bathroom property in the heart of the Ironbridge Gorge, Shropshire with a contemporary interior, it is well appointed throughout and provides guests comfortable and flexible accommodation, with character features consisting of wooden beams, as well as a lovely large inglenook fireplace with log burner, all of which help to create a charming atmosphere and offers guests a truly home from home holiday experience. The property benefits from its own private drive with free parking and secure gardens and is in a tranquil and peaceful location next to the River Severn at Jackfield, with the Wrekin Way footpath accessed from the front door, providing our guests with direct access to traffic free scenic walks and cycle trails to enjoy. The perfect reason to leave your car parked up for the duration of your stay and explore everywhere on foot or bike if you so wish. You are spoilt for choice for places to enjoy a bite to eat and drink, whether that be fine dining at a local restaurant, coffee, and homemade cake at one of the cafés or the perfect pint with a pub lunch at the many local hostelries within a 5-minute walk.

A few minutes walk away is the creative hub of Maws, where you will find a fabulous collection of local artisans in the historical courtyard, each with their own independent shop, some offering creative courses to learn a new skill. It is also home to the popular Tile Press Café, where you can enjoy homemade food and aromatic coffees. The picturesque centre of Ironbridge is just over a mile away with its lovely independent shops and is easily accessible on foot along the Severn Valley Way. Ironbridge is home to 10 award winning museums which are open throughout the year and for families visiting during the school holidays you will find a host of activities planned to keep everyone entertained.

Shropshire is a hidden gem and there's plenty to see and do. We have lots of amazing places to visit, Much Wenlock, Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury, Ludlow to name but a few plus historic houses and castles with beautiful gardens, the famous Ironbridge, and family attractions, not forgetting the many dedicated walking and cycling routes, and of course plenty of opportunity to enjoy leisurely days on the River Severn, fishing, canoeing, or taking one of our recommended organised rafting tours. The local landscape reflects the fact that Shropshire is geologically unique and creates the special habitats that ensures our wildlife is so diverse. All this adds up to making Shropshire great walking country, giving you the opportunity to spot otters, kingfishers, birds of prey, badgers, foxes and deer to name but a few that our guests have seen when they holiday with us.

The pretty front garden overlooks the River Severn and the large patio and rear terraced garden is perfect for some alfrescro dining, enchanced by the bbq oven provided for guests use. The rear garden is directly accessed from the kitchen and living room patio doors.

We offer a set weekend price from Friday to Monday, so while you are very welcome to come for 2 nights, the price would be the same. It does of course give you the added flexibility of being able to relax and enjoy the cottage until as late as you want on the Sunday, to make the most of your stay.

access:

Rear enclosed garden, set of brick steps leading onto gravelled terrace with potted plants and flowers, further set of railway sleeper steps on to lawned garden. Please note whilst the patio areas are easily accessible from the kitchen door the rear garden is terraced and accessed via steps that may be unsuitable for those with limited mobility or young children. Front garden has level access from driveway leading in to walled gravelled garden with potted plants and flowers.
