Further afield rests the market town of Ashbourne with a market place, eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, coaching inns and almshouses, along with the city of Stoke-on-Trent and the Peak District National Park. A mile away from Cauldon is Waterhouses situated on the south-western edge of the Peak District National Park, home to two pubs, a couple of shops and a fish and chip shop. Just 4 miles away is the world renowned Alton Towers Theme Park.
