Shrewsbury 8 miles. This superb detached stone and red brick cottage is set next to the owners’ home, in the small village of Cound, within reach of the historic town of Shrewsbury. A wonderful base for families and friends, this gorgeous property is close to a host of attractions and places to visit, including Shrewsbury itself with its many listed buildings, Ironbridge and the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Upon entering this lovely holiday home you will find a hallway with stone flooring where you can leave boots and coats after a day’s walking exploring the local area. The large, light and airy kitchen with dining area has underfloor heating and is attractively furnished, also on the ground floor are two comfy sitting rooms, one of which has a woodburner and a Smart TV, and the other has exposed beams. The bedrooms and bathroom are on the first floor, with most rooms offering views of the garden. The master super king-size double has a convenient en-suite bathroom and with the two twin rooms, which have feature fireplaces and share the shower room, will ensure you have a good night’s sleep. Outside are wonderful grounds, where you can enjoy a morning coffee or evening drink, in pleasant surroundings. The village of Cound is set close to the River Severn and has a Grade I listed church. The nearest pub to the property is The Riverside Inn, which is a mile away and serves meals and real ale, whilst the nearest shop is in the nearby village of Cross Houses. The town of Shrewsbury has something for everyone, including listed buildings, independent shops, cafes and pubs, an abbey and a castle. With so many other places in the area to visit makes Rectory Cottage an excellent place to stay.
