Enjoying a private setting with a decked area and off-road parking, Mucklewick Hollow provides an idyllic abode for couples and their canine companion, perfect for escaping everyday life and indulging in country life. After a day of rambling the outdoors, kick off your walking boots and relax on the settee, accompanied by a charming woodburning stove which gently heats the space. Move over to the kitchen and start preparing a home-favourite dish, making use of the electric oven and hob, before taking a seat at the dining table and toasting to a much-needed getaway. The interior is uplifted by natural lighting; throw open the patio doors to bring the outside in, accessing the decked space where you can sit out on the furniture and take in the setting. Freshen up in the shower room before heading to the double bed to catch your rest. Awaken from a leisurely slumber and open the doors to the Juliette balcony; imagine lazing in bed whilst the birds chirp around you. The surrounding area is a haven for walkers; head north to the Mitchell’s Fold Stone Circle, a 3000 year old monument nestled in grazing fields, or head south to the Bury Ditches and discover this British Iron Age hill fort. Five miles away is the delightful village of Stiperstones, offering the essential amenities with the Stiperstones Inn providing a lovely spot for a drink and something to eat. Explore into Bishop’s Castle where you will be greeted by historical wonder in the form of listed timber framed buildings, quaint shops and a “House on Crutches'' or head over the border into Wales and see the large Norman ruins of Montgomery Castle, the National Trust’s Powis Castle and Garden and the wonderful Welshpool & Llanfair Railway. Escape to Mucklewick Hollow and enjoy a delightful retreat with your other half.

The South West Shropshire Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, surround the charming market town of Bishop's Castle. The historic town has a farmer's market once a month as well as a wide selection of restaurants, pubs, and shops. It is well-known for hosting regular festivals and fairs, including Party in the Park and the immensely well-liked Michaelmas Fair, as well as the annual Real Ale Festival and Tandem Triathlon. The village hall in Lydham hosts a weekly market where fresh local goods are sold. The town is conveniently located for travelling by foot through the Welsh Marches, rural Shropshire, and North Herefordshire, as well as nearby Montgomery, Ludlow, and Shrewsbury, three fascinating and well-known towns.

The bed was ultra comfy and warm. It was comfortably warm and cosy in the hut, despite the dreadful weather outside. The owners were kind ensuring we had enough food and wine as were unable to venture out one day due to the dreadful weather. Thank you Wendy and Richard. We look forward returning again in the summer..

So cosy and everything is brand new. The little wood burner was easy to operate, plenty of wood supplied and the warm feeling from it was so nice. I was impressed with fully equipped kitchen that has everything you can wish for. Little bathroom with big shower was a nice addition. Hut has plenty of windows so it’s bright and airy. Everything is well thought out and beautifully decorated. Located in the heart of Shropshire Hills, just by the stream, away from hustle and bustle - what more do you need. Property is dog friendly - same as all the pubs in the area. Owners are very friendly and helpful. I’m sure I’ll come back.

Easy access to many locations in Shropshire and Wales. We both thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay. Thanks Wendy
