Marine Terrace in Shrewsbury boasts a superb riverside location close to the town centre, offering spacious accommodation ideal for groups and families. Guests frequently praise the well-equipped kitchen, attractive décor, and comfortable bedrooms. The hot tub and river views are standout features, and many found the owner responsive and helpful. However, some guests noted issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and occasional noise from neighbours. Overall, the property provides an excellent base for exploring Shrewsbury, with its central setting and ample amenities making it a popular choice for gatherings.
Reviews are mixed regarding cleanliness. Many guests found the property clean and well-presented, but a significant number reported issues such as dust, stained carpets, dirty kitchen appliances, and occasional damp smells. Some guests felt the property needed a deep clean and better attention to detail, while others were satisfied with the standard of cleanliness.
The location is consistently praised as excellent, with guests loving the proximity to Shrewsbury town centre, river views, and easy access to shops, restaurants, and parks. The central setting is a major highlight for most visitors.
Most guests found the bedrooms comfortable, with good quality bedding and spacious rooms. Some mentioned uncomfortable mattresses or pillows, and a few noted issues with damp or lounge seating. Overall, comfort is rated positively, especially for group stays.
The property offers strong facilities, including a well-equipped kitchen, hot tub, and modern bathrooms. However, several guests experienced maintenance issues such as broken appliances, hot tub problems, and minor safety concerns. While many enjoyed the amenities, reliability and upkeep were inconsistent.
Some guests appreciated small touches like tea and coffee, but there were also comments about missing essentials (e.g., towels, soap, dishwasher tablets). While thoughtful gestures were occasionally noted, these are not guaranteed and the overall experience varied.

From the start, the host was incredibly helpful and proactive with communication, making everything smooth and stress-free for our stay. The location is absolutely perfectâright in the centre of town, with easy access by both car and train. The views of the river were beautiful and really added something special to the whole weekend. The accommodation itself was spotless, spacious, and very well equipped with everything we needed. The hot tub was a fantastic bonus and definitely a highlight for the group. We had such a wonderful time and would highly recommend this place to anyone, especially for group stays or special occasions!

The condition of the property is far below an acceptable standard, both in terms of cleanliness and maintenance, to the extent that your property is not fit for purpose. The property was in a disgraceful state from the outset, the front entrance was untidy and unkept, but the real issues are inside: -The entire property was exceptionally dirty, kitchen worktops had not been wiped down, drawers contained dirt, and bedside tables were covered in dust. -The sofas were stained to the point that we had to cover them with bedsheets just to sit down. -The oven was unusable, and the toaster was filthy. As a group, we had budgeted for food to cook during our stay, which became a waste of money as the kitchen was in an unsanitary state. -Carpets were stained, and it was clear that vacuuming had not been done properly. Under the beds, there was a collection of dust and dirt. -Some of the windows were covered in cobwebs and grime. -The hot tub was in a revolting condition, and being told it "just needed some chemicals" was completely unacceptable and to be honest was a compete insult. -Not only was the property unclean, but the smell inside was unpleasant, making it an unbearable place to spend time. This experience cast a shadow over our weekend and was a major disappointment given the time and money we had invested in this tripâ¦. It was supposed to be a nice relaxing weekend where we could all spend âdown timeâ together⦠but the reality was, we spent the full weekend in cafes and restaurants, forced to eat out for every meal and finding nice places to be as the property was so horrid! We booked and paid upfront for this property in good faith, relying on the representations and photographs you provided online. It is clear to me that you knowingly misrepresented the condition of the property at the time you accepted payment, which is deeply concerning.
